Susan Steelman Caselli

Susan Steelman Caselli, 84, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord on September 1, 2025, at home in Hopewell, Va.

Born on March 24, 1941, Susan dedicated her life to caring for others. She graduated from Jefferson Medical College Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pa., and became a registered nurse in 1961. After beginning her career in nursing, she chose to devote herself fully to raising her family and caring for loved ones at home. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her children to include care for her mother and in-laws and many others.

Susan's life was deeply rooted in faith. She was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Mount Olive, NJ until 1985, and then served faithfully at Emmanuel Church in Egg Harbor City, NJ until 2024. Her greatest joy was sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she met. She made it her mission to ensure that others knew of God's love and salvation through Christ.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald; her children: Barry, Tom and his wife Joyce (Mohr), and Cathy with her husband Bryan Robinson; and her cherished grandchildren: JoEl, Deanna, Thomas, Sam, Josiah, and Toby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rush and Elsie Steelman, and her brother Rush Barret Steelman.

A memorial service celebrating Susan's life will be held at 11 a.m. on October 18, 2025, at Emmanuel Church in Egg Harbor City, NJ. All are welcome.

Susan loved her Lord most of all and lived each day as a testimony to His grace. Her unwavering faith and boundless love leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May we find comfort knowing she now rests in eternal peace with the Savior she so dearly loved and served.
