We are so very sorry to hear of "Mr Coyle" passing away. I first met him at Belhaven in 5th grade where he was my gym teacher and became my basketball coach. He instilled a love of the game in me that carries on to this day. He always made you feel special and supported you with his gentle way & smile. I was so very fortunate to run into him through the years, usually at a bball game. He continued to always bring a smile to my face and made me feel like I mattered. My husband, JB got to know him through the years and it meant so much that he got to know my connection for my love of the game. JB and I send our love & prayers and thank you for sharing your dad with so many people who loved him! He will never be forgotten....XO

I believe this is the famous Mr Coyle who was my favorite gym teacher at Belhaven Ave School. I´ve thought about him over the years and am sorry to see his name listed here. I was a student at Belhaven 1974-1978 and he was a fun teacher! My condolences to his family. He left a very positive impression on me.

Tom taught all three of our kids to swim and was a joy to watch as he did so! He later taught our son Jake at the Prep. We are fortunate to be his friend and neighbor as we crossed paths over the years. He will be missed for sure.
