Tito Lomboy Obituary

LOMBOY, TITO P. Jr. MD, - 88, of Atlantic City, LOMBOY, TITO P. Jr. M.D., 88 of Atlantic City, NJ passed away on Monday June 12, 2023 at 12 noon.

Tito was born on September 12, 1934 in Caba, La Union, Philippines. He was the son of Theodora Runtal Picazo Lomboy and Tito Picardel Lomboy Sr. He is preceded in death by his sister Magelia Lomboy-Fabio and survived by his remaining siblings; Teddy Lomboy, Lilia Lomboy-Rigor, and Erlinda Lomboy-Aguilar. He married Norma Pulida Trinidad on January 3,1959 and were married for 61 years.

Tito began his professional career after graduating from the University of Santo Tomas with a Medical Degree in 1958. He worked as a Professor at the CIT College of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines. He left the Philippines in 1962 and moved to the U.S. to continue a Fellowship in Pathology where he became a Fellow at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. He then worked as a resident in Pathology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He returned home to the Philippines briefly only to return in 1967 when he emigrated with his family to the United States where he was offered his first job as a Pathologist at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA. From there he decided to move to Pueblo, Colorado where he and his wife both worked at the Colorado State Hospital. They stayed there for a year and eventually Tito moved his family to Allentown, PA. in 1969.

He began a career in Pathology at Allentown General Hospital from 1969-1977. Later in 1977, he started his own medical laboratory as the Medical Director in Allentown, PA., known as Medical Diagnostic Laboratories which he ran until 2003.

In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly referred to his as "Lolo" and "PaPa". Tito and Norma loved to travel across the United States in their "camper", going crabbing and fishing with their essential snacks of pumpkin seeds, twizzlers, and pork rinds. They also enjoyed their travel abroad, especially returning to the Philippines where they continued their lives together doing charitable work. They build a home together in Iba, Zambales which they considered their second home, where they focused their time and effort dong charitable work for the children in that town. However, nothing was more important to him than his personal devotion to his faith and Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Tito is survived by five children and their spouses: Clifford (Mary Grace), Carl

(Bonnie), Caroline (Bob), Christine, and Craig (Dorothy). He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses: Elise (Aaron), Nicholas (Hannah), and Christian; Jason, Jonathan, and Jacqueline (Steve); Briana and Alexander; Emmerson; Erin; Kelly, Kieran, and Declan, great grandchildren Jack and Grace.

Losing an uncle is so difficult, especially when they were so important to you. I feel truly saddened that you are no longer with us. It was just yesterday that you were singing the song: "Sweet Caroline" at cousin Lina's wedding. Losing something/someone is always hard but somehow, someway with God's guidance and love, we will eventually
find them/you. Now, we have another angel in the mist looking over us. My heart is so heavy. Love you Uncle Tito.
Peace be with you.
