Ursula Friedrich

1934 - 2021

FRIEDRICH, URSULA (nee Belli), - 86, of West Cape May, died at her home on May 26, 2021. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Ernest and Anna Belli (nee Murphy). Ursula was a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education. She taught and coached in the Bristol Township (PA) School System prior to her marriage. While raising her family, Ursula spent 25 years pursuing her passion of selling antiques at the Golden Nugget fleamarket in Lambertville, NJ and at antique shows in the Northeast. In 1987, Ursula became the sole proprietor of her own shop, Bridgetowne Antiques, in West Cape May for over 30 years. She loved the funky vibe of the early WCM community and had many customers who became her friends over the years. She was a very active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was also a member of the SSJ Associates and loved volunteering at St. Mary's by the Sea Retreat House at Cape May Point, as well as attending daily Mass there. Ursula was also a former officer of both the Greater Cape May Historical Society and the West Cape May Business Association. She enjoyed being an usher for Cape May Stage and the East Lynne Theater Company for many years. Ursula is dearly missed and forever loved by her family which includes her four children, Stephen (Melissa) Friedrich, Ellen Friedrich, Julianne (Jim) Jindra, and Catherine (Jim) Wetzel; her eight grandchildren; her two sisters, Constance Hoke and Sr. Jeanne Belli, SSJ; as well as her nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (June 3rd) at 12:30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May.
