WILLIAM CROSSON Obituary

CROSSON, WILLIAM J. SR., "BILL" 81 - of Rockledge, Florida (formerly of Northfield), died peacefully on March 15, 2011 surrounded by his family. Bill was born and raised in Atlantic City. He enjoyed skiing, duck hunting, and the beach, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was all about family, faith and fun. With his daily church attendance during most of his life, Bill said he was St. Bernadette's "oldest altar boy". He was a model of persistence and selflessness as one who never gave up and always put others before himself. Bill worked much of his life with the HJ Heinz Company. But, always a good provider for his family, Bill kept busy, at times operating a photography concession at Hackney's & Captain Starns restaurants and other times bartending at many local restaurants. Although he had always said he'd never move to Florida, he and his wife Mary enjoyed the last seven years in the warm weather. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kass (McNally), son Billy, brother Easy Ed, sister Jacqueline, son-in-law Paul Smith and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Eaton. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Le Faucheur), his children Kathy (Tony) Eaton, Patty Smith, Barbara (Frank) Hannum, Kevin (Rose) Crosson, Rich Crosson and fiancee Michele Oliva, Bernadette (Joe) Dougherty, Mary Ann Irving, Denise (Mark) Alessandro, his brother Jerry (Dee) Crosson, sister-in-law Della Crosson, daughter-in-law Lori Crosson, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and his faithful companion Lucky. The Mass of Christian Burial for William (Bill) Crosson, Sr. will be Celebrated 11:00am Thursday, March 31, 2011at St. Bernadette Church of St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, 1421 New Road, Northfield. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill's Life celebration beginning in church with calling from 9:45am until the Mass. The Rite of Committal will be offered at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery following Mass. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to: The Claudia Fund, P.O. Box 634, Pleasantville, NJ 08232, or to: www.lifepath-hospice.org. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC AC.
