Edward Trujillo Obituary

Edward Trujillo, 90, passed way January 4, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah as the result of old age and health problems. He was a very loving father and friend to anyone who knew him. He was born in Fullerton, California at his grandmother's house on March 12, 1934, during an earthquake, to Alfonso Trujillo and Ramona Witron. He was raised Catholic but joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1955 after he met his soon to be wife, Carol Ann Lindhardt. They were married April 15, 1955, sealed in the Logan Temple in 1958. After 6 kids and 21 years of marriage they ended in divorce.

Edward attended schools in Fullerton and Santa Ana, California. He graduated from Fullerton Union High School in 1952 and enlisted in the US Air Force that same year. He spent 10 years in the Air Force before being Honorably Discharged in 1962 and 7 years in the Utah National Guard for a total of 17 years of military service. While in the Air Force he went to school to learn how to work on airplane engines and worked on the C-124s at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah for all of his 10 years except for the 2 years spent on the Azores Islands working for that base. After retiring from the Air Force, you could usually find him working on car engines or doing things with his family when not at work. He really enjoyed his family and doing things with them like going to Disneyland, camping, going to the beach, picnics, fishing and many other activities. He was also very good at building things or gardening. Doing anything outside was his favorite place to be.

Edward loved sports. He was a big fan of the Angels and Rams, and NASCAR racing. Jeff Gordon #24 was his favorite race car driver. He played softball on several church and city teams. He played football while in High School.

He was a Tenderfoot Scout as a child and as an adult was an Asst. helper of Explorers at the Clearfield 3rd Ward in Clearfield, Utah while still in the Air Force. After the Air Force he moved his family to California. Settling in Santa Ana, California, where he found work and was near family so he could visit them often. His mother had remarried, and he now had 7 more brothers and sisters for a total of 10 brothers and sisters.

While in California, he was very active in the church and served 2 Stake Missions, taught Sunday school and served willingly in other callings in the ward. After moving back to Idaho, he served as the Ward Clerk and other assorted callings in the ward.

After the divorce, Edward moved to Salt Lake City to live and work. While down there he met Vera Jean Cox Jensen. They were married on July 10, 1998. She passed away in 2010.
