Rebecca Kirkbride Obituary

Rebecca Hatch Kirkbride, 92, completed her work on this earth and returned to her heavenly home on August 8, 2025. Rebecca was born on August 5, 1933 to Annie Christina Olson and Walter Hatch at Oxford, ID. Rebecca went to school in Oxford, Swan Lake and West Side High School in Clifton. She has one brother, Merlin Hatch (deceased). She also had three step-brothers, two step-sisters, four half-brothers and one half-sister.

Rebecca married, James Max (Jim) Kirkbride on August 26, 1950 in Oxford, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of six children, Helen (Phil) Smith, Maxine (Brent) Radcliffe, Alan (Susan) Kirkbride, Lee (Liz) Kirkbride, Glen (Cathy) Kirkbride and Jay (Heidi) Kirkbride. They have 44 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren including the spouses of their grandchildren that they also count as their own.

Jim and Rebecca were the proprietors of Circle K Sanitation for many years. Rebecca also worked at Ritewood Eggs. Following her retirement, Rebecca served as an ordinance worker at the Logan LDS temple for 5 years. She taught 4-H for many years. Rebecca enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, camping, reading, traveling and was a member of the Franklin Literary Club and the Daughters of the Pioneers. However, family was the vey most important to her and what she enjoyed the most. Rebecca and Jim attended as many of their children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities as they could.

Rebecca was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Relief Society President, Primary President and Guide Patrol Scout Leader. Her life was the epitome of Christ like service. She blessed the lives of her family as well as many ward members, co-workers, friends and neighbors.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; Jim's parents , Earl and Reta Kirkbride; all of her siblings and their spouses; a sister and brother in-law, Barbara and Jerry Schvaneveldt and a granddaughter, Jill Ferguson.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 75 years, her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren and their spouses and a sisters in-law, Pauline Winward and Karen Pope.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 12 noon at the Franklin Stake Center, 106 E Main Street, Franklin, ID. Viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S 800 E, Preston, and Friday prior to the service at the Franklin Stake Center from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Very sad! I'm sorry for your loss. My condolences and prayers for y'all. May she Rest in peace. She was a very kind person who will be missed by many including myself. I also know her from going to Daughters of Pioneer meetings with my Grandma Emma Palmer.
