Sheila Adeyemi Obituary

Sheila Marie Hall Adeyemi, age 43, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Sheila was born December 7th, 1980, in Preston, Idaho, to Burnell and Rebecca (Freeman) Hall and lovingly raised by Burnell and Darlene (Nelson) Hall after the untimely passing of her birth mother. The fourth of six siblings, Sheila shared her childhood on the family farm with her brothers and sisters: Zac, Jer, Katie, Brady, and Ginny. Her early years were filled with the hard work, laughter, and love that shaped her into the dynamic, silly, and resilient woman she became. She graduated in 1999 from Preston High School.

Sheila's passion for service led her to join the Army, where she proudly served as a paralegal from 2002 to 2005. Following her service, Sheila attended Utah State University, where she discovered her love for learning and met her soulmate, Seyi (Shay) Adeyemi. They were married on November 8, 2009, a day that marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership built on love, respect, and shared dreams.

Sheila graduated from Utah State University in May of 2012, earning her bachelor's degree in human resources. Sheila began a fulfilling career as a Human Resource Assistant at the VA in Salt Lake City, where she devoted herself to advocating for and supporting fellow veterans. Her work was a true reflection of her kind heart and steadfast commitment to helping others.

On October 1, 2013, Sheila and Seyi welcomed their son, Benjamin, the light of their lives. Sheila poured her heart into being a devoted mother, sharing her love of history, laughter, and adventure with him. Her family was her world, and every decision she made was rooted in love for Seyi and Benjamin.

Shortly after the birth of Ben, Sheila was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PHA). The same disease that took her mother. This rare disease affects the lungs' arteries and the right side of the heart. Sheila began working with a team at the University of Utah hospital to manage this disease. She pushed through as long as possible but eventually decided to medically retire in 2015 to be the mom she wanted to be for Ben. In March of 2016, she joined the waitlist for a double lung transplant, something that would rid her body of PAH but give her other problems to face. She decided that "No matter what the future held, I had to be able to say that I did all I could to be with Ben and Seyi." Sheila was able to get her new lungs in August of 2017. She would then be able to spend the next seven years of her life with her husband and son.

They would travel to places to be outdoors, like the Uintah's, Antelope Island, and Hawaii as it is one of her favorite places. Sheila had a love for history and research; she was in the process of preserving her family's personal history. Sheila was silly, vivid, and a force to be reckoned with. She was a fierce fighter who wanted to hear people's stories and share hers. She spoke up against injustices and had a brilliant way of making everyone and everything feel seen. We deeply miss her.

She is sorrowfully leaving behind her husband: Oluwaseyi "Seyi", son: Benjamin "Ben", her dogs (Sadie and Munk), parents: Burnell and Darlene Hall, in-laws: Adedayo Adeyemi, Yetude and Gilbert Garcia, siblings: Adejoke "Kemi" Adeyemi, Temitope "Tope" Adeyemi, Zachary (Heather) Givens, Jeremy Givens, Katie (Sam) Hatch, Brady (Beck) Hall, Ginny (Ethan) Nielsen, eight nieces, ten nephews, a great-niece and a great-nephew. Sheila is proceeded in death by her mother, Rebecca; brother, Troy; her sister-in-law, Angie; as well as aunts, uncles, grandparents, and some of her much-beloved pets.

Funeral Service were held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home. Interment was in the Fairview Idaho Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com.
