Bernice Orton Obituary

Bernice Riddle Orton, 69, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at her home with her family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Riddle and Mable Leah Spence Riddle; her husband, Horace Mitchell Orton; a daughter, Robin Crystal Jones; and a sister, Mary Ann Barnes. Bernice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was a member of Tabernacle Church in Carson.

She is survived by a daughter, Michelle O. Mayton and her husband, Earl; son, H.M. Orton II; grandchildren, Mitchell, Sean-Wesley and Megan; nieces, Rhonda Beville and Kim Vesley; and a special family friend, Robin Brown.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009. at Tabernacle Church in Carson. The Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family, where all are welcome to come and visit Mrs. Orton. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
