CAROLYN BOLDEN Obituary

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Carolyn L. Bolden was called into eternal rest. Carolyn was born on August 1, 1943 to the late Isaac L. Lee and Luerania Edna Lee.
Carolyn loved singing, dancing, playing the keyboard, playing the piano and spending time with family and friends. Carolyn captured the attention of everyone she encountered with her timeless fashion and effortless style. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone. Carolyn displayed a kind and kindred spirit throughout her life. Even in her last days, she took pride in her appearance.
Carolyn was greeted at Heaven's Gates by her beloved husband, Joe W. Bolden; son, James Bolden; and great grandson, Karon James.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Jewel L. Munford (Juan) of Petersburg, VA, and Yolanda Scott (Nathaniel) of Richmond, VA. Carolyn Bolden is also survived by her sister, Frances L. Carpenter of University Park, IL. She was a beloved aunt of her niece, Marquay Lee-Pearce of Centreville, VA and nephews, Shawn Penman of University Park, IL, Darrell Carpenter, Sr. of Fresno, CA, and Jeffrey Carpenter of Las Vegas, NV and countless others great nieces and nephews. Carolyn is also loved and cherished her cousins, Osborne "Bubba" Bailey II, Rev. Dr. Rayaltor Bailey Powell, Raymond Bailey, Barbara Bailey Wesson, Osborne Kingston Bailey, Jr. (Dorothy), Apostle Joyce A. Bailey, Loretta Bailey Cutler, and Wanda Whitehead and a host of other cousins; grandchildren, Vurniqua Hepburn, Pierre Lee (Cierra), Juan M. Munford (Demetria), Juanisha M. Munford (Brandon), Jewel G. Munford (Jimar) all of Petersburg, VA, Orlando Bolden, Micheal Bolden, Christian Bolden, Alexis Bolden, Le'Robert Alexander, Iziah Alexander (Brooke), Jasmine booker (Bryan), Nathaniel Scott III, Joy Archie (Michael), Nathan Scott, Jewel Scott, Jahonna Scott, Nehemiah Scott, Robin Alexander (James), Jerel Holmes, Rameque Brown all of Richmond, VA; greatgrandchildren, TyQuan Clark, Maryonia Munford, Maya Lee, Taliyah Hepburn, Nicholas Lee, Ziyah Munford, Jumiah Munford, Juliah Munford, Maliha Munford, Arman Johnson, and Legacy James all of Petersburg, VA, Terri Lee, Mariyah Bolden, Kaleb Bolden, Leonidas Bolden, Promise Bolden, Zion Williams, Kendrick Bolden, Za'kiyah Bolden, Layla Archie, Nyla Mitchell, Sigh Booker, Jayland Wilson, Rajahne Harris, Leah Harris, Shamus Alexander, Yasmine Alexander all of Richmond; devoted friends, Delano and Bertha Bland, Ricky Jackson and Paige Harper.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery, 750 Page Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Rayaltor Bailey Powell, eulogist.
