Cary Shultz Obituary

Cary Winston Shultz, 67, of Chesterfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Clay Winston and Lucy West Shultz. He was the owner and operator of Shultz Peanut and Cold Storage in Wakefield, Va.

Mr. Shultz is survived by his wife, Pam Shultz; daughter, Anne S. Drewery and husband, Wayne K. Drewery Jr. of Prince George; son, C. Winston Shultz Jr. and wife, LuAnn James Shultz of Waverly; step-children, LCDR Brett Mietus, USN and wife, Willow of Fredericksburg, Va., and Brian Mietus of Richmond; grandchildren, Ryan K. Drewery, Alexis and Claire Mietus; siblings, Fred Shultz and wife, Margaret of Glen Allen, Barbara S. Lewis and husband, Richard of Dinwiddie, and Steve Shultz and wife, Penn of Chester. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Petersburg chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Chester, with the Rev. Dale Custer, Rector officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 3550 North Central Avenue, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85012-2127 or the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

My heart goes out to all of Cary's friends and family, especially Winston, he left us way too soon. When I left Wakefield to pursue other avenues, the time spent with Cary and Winston at the peanut company are some of the times I miss the most.
