Mr. Charles Jones, Sr., 68, of 2100 Mariner Drive Apt A, N Chesterfield, VA departed this life on Saturday, February 18, 2019, at MCV. He was born on August 27, 1950, to the late Peter and Alice Jones.
Charles attended Eastern District High School. He retired from Smurfit-Stone Container Subsidiaries. Charles had a love for fishing, bowling and playing cards. He attended Friendship Baptist Church at an early age.
He is survived by wife, Karen Jackson Jones; brothers, Peter Jones (Judy), Walsh Jones (Mary), and Joseph Jones; sisters, Alice Edwards (Morgandi), Doris Adams, Pearl Jones and Novella McKeever; four children, Calina Perry (James), Charles Jones, Jr., LaKeisha Jones, and DaKota Jones; six grandchildren, Jamilyah Perry, Breonna Beasley, Deon Jones, James Perry, Jr., Marquale Beasley and Keishawanna Winfield; three sisters-in-law, Shelia Hill, Sharon Harris, and Joyce Graves (John); mother-in-law, Marion Dudley; one uncle, Isaac Jones; one aunt, Leola White; children's mothers, Ellen Jones and Eve Parham; host of nieces and nephews, Angela Monds (Dwayne) and Rodney Jones (Denise) whom he mostly favored, cousins, and friends among those that were dear to him, Thomas Tyler, Herbert Wheat, Darrell Bullock, Linwood Hill (deceased), Jean and Sylvester Sharpe.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the chapel of Bland & Tucker Funeral Homes, 1500 Arlington Rd., Hopewell, VA, Rev. Robert L. Barnes, officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George, VA.
