Charles Patterson Obituary

Charles L. "Pat" Patterson Jr., 83, of Hopewell, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Nellie White Patterson; a daughter, Bonnie McCall; and a sister, Betty Cumo.

Charles was retired from Allied Chemical with 37 years of service, a charter member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church, a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge #1472, a member of the USS Hancock Association, and a Navy veteran serving in WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie H. Patterson; two daughters, Diane P. Goodman and her husband, Jimmy, and Krystal P. Fenn; four grandchildren, Angela Noll and husband, James, Aaron Fenn, Michael Monteith and wife, Natalie, Zachary Fenn and wife, Lauren; four great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Ray McCall. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., and where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, with the Rev. Rod Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave., #100, Richmond, VA 23226.
