CONNIE ADAMS Obituary

On January 22, 2016, God called home His faithful servant, Connie Price Adams. Connie Adams was born on June 14, 1933, in Pulaski, Va., to the late Clarence and Juanita (Hogan) Price. She was the tenth of eleven children of this union.

Connie graduated from Christiansburg High School and was employed at Hopewell Convalescent Center as a Dietician in Hopewell for over 25 years.

She was a wonderful wife and mother with a loving and caring demeanor. She always knew how to make everyone-husband, children, grandchildren, other family and friends feel loved whenever they were around her. Her smile could light up a room!

She accepted Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church in Pulaski. She later became a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Petersburg serving on the Hospitality Committee, until her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ethel Bullock, Edna Patterson, Miller Lee Curren, Ida Hoston, Philademay Price, Martha Hendricks and Tokey Slaughter; and brothers, Matthadus, Manus and Elisha Price.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 61 years, Harry H. Adams, Jr.; her children, Crystal V. Adams, Harry H. Adams, III (Mary), Juanita E. Adams-Lee (Marion), Nicklous P. Adams (Darlyn) and Connise D. Adams; 12 grandchildren, Alicia Griggs-Pittam Knowlton (Rick), Michael Mendoza, Jessica M. Adams, Michael L. Lee, Liane A. Davis (Torrence), Nicklous Adams, II (Jurita), Ashia N. Adams, Michelle D. Lee, Justin M. Adams; Prentice Ratliff (Tania), Tawan Carter (DeCarla) and Carrie Ratliff-Robertson (Darrel); 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Petersburg Chapel of Bland & Tucker Funeral Homes. Chief Apostle Dr. Tenia M. Price of Holy Ground Tabernacle Church of Deliverance, 4 Elmhurst St., Newport News, Va., officiating. Interment to follow at Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, Va.

Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Bland & Tucker Funeral Homes, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, (804) 732-7841. Family members and friends may leave an online condolence at blandenterprisesinc.com.
