Coy Tuck Obituary

Coy W. Tuck, 74, of Hopewell, Va., went home to Heaven Monday, Feb. 13, 2012.

He was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., July 28, 1937, the son of the late Lloyd Jackson Tuck and Nellie Rawlings Tuck Tijerina. He was employed by Allied Chemical B plant, Crane Tech, Crane M.I.T., Foley Materials and Handling.

Coy also owned Roaring 20's, Blackwells, Tuck's Tavern, Tucks Red Barn, Tucks Quik Stop and the concessions at Virginia Motorsports Park, Dinwiddie, in its beginning. He also operated the Anchor Point Marina and store in Hopewell. Coy was a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge, American Legion, V.F.W. and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Hopewell and also held church on Sunday mornings at the Hopewell Convalescent Center for years.

Coy is survived by his wife, Delilah Lou Tuck; two sons, James S. Tuck and wife, Elaine, of Hopewell, and Coy M. Tuck and wife, Sharon, of Canon City, Colo.; three daughters, Donna T. Poole and husband, Ronnie, of Chester, Va., Ronda M. Tuck of Prince George, Va., and Kelly A. Tuck of Canon City, Colo.; two sisters, Nancy Lee Bland of Hopewell and Brenda J. Tucker of Chesapeake, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.

A memorial service followed by the family receiving friends will take place at First Baptist Church, Hopewell, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made to the VCU Massey Cancer Center, P.O. Box 843042, Richmond, VA 23284, in memory of Coy.

I was so saddened to hear of Coy's passing! He was full of life and will always remember the many times be belted, "You are my Sunshine". He always made you smile...My deepest sympathy and thoughts are with Lou and family...My God Bless.
