Creed Johnson Obituary

Mr. Creed W. Johnson, Jr., of 2752 Homestead Dr., Petersburg, departed this life, March 3, 2009, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Crewe, Virginia, and was the son of the late Creed W. and Rachel Tee Johnson. He confessed Christ at a young age and joined Eleven Oaks Baptist Church, Crewe. He was a retired truck driver and employee of Lasko Metal Products.

He leaves to cherish in his memories, a loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Mrs. Lois E. Johnson, of Petersburg; two sons, Marty W. Johnson, Sr., (Dianne) of Ettrick, and Ronson Smith, of Delaware; one daughter, Monica R. Stockman, of Ettrick; one sister, Sadie J. Epps, of Blackstone; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews, among them, a devoted niece, Missouri Whidbee, of Sutherland, and a devoted nephew, George Epps; and other relatives and friends, among them, a devoted friend, James Evans.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 9th, at the chapel of the William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev. Marcus N. Leggett, pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, now serving from three locations, Petersburg, Hopewell, and Waverly.
