Ms. Cynthia L. Kelly Gordon, 56, of 4451 Jefferson Point Lane, Prince George, VA, departed this life on Thursday, March 28, 2019. She was born in Dalton, Ga., and is a graduate of Petersburg High School, Class of 1982. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Rogers Kelley Brown; and her father, Marvin Kelley, Sr.
Between traveling her work history consist of employment with Southside Virginia Training Center, Correction Officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a health care nursing aid.
She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, listening to music and curling-up with a good book on a rainy day. Her favorite scripture was John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: a loving devoted daughter, Nykia S. Gordon; two brothers, Garry Kelley of Texas, and Marvin Kelley, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; ex-husband and close devoted life-time friend, Ricky L. Gordon, Sr.; a host of other relatives and friends.

I still can't believe Cynthia has passed on, we have been friends since our days is teams at Fort Lee. Cynthia Beverly and many more of us Military Brats not only group up together but grew together, and even though we may not have talked to each other everyday, when we did to each other, again, I'm just like we never missed a beat, you will be miss my sister Rejoice In Paradise.

My heart is full upon hearing the passing if my longtime sister from another. Nykia, Junior, Gary you know your mama and sister is at peace and suffers no more as she rests with the Lord, man a carolyn and "Hyde to her Jekyll" "Rev"(Beverly.) I sure hope Bev forewarned them up there to BE READY cuz the laughter is fixing to THUNDER . Upon receiving word of the loss of Cyn after tears all I could do was smile and laugh at all of the wonderful, HILARIOUS antics we shared with Bev and "our" circle of Divas since days of youth. Our Girls Weekend in Maryland celebrating fellow "sister" Lila's birthday is FOREVER etched in my memory as the BEST EVER. Boy how we LIVED, LAUGHED & LOVED being spoiled, chauffered and personally catered to. So many stories to share. ( Uhh. So many not to as well.). I was already missing being out of touch these pastseveral months however I duly understand how the Lord entices us to make sole time to trust in him for "ALL THINGS" for strength. I will miss you dearly sister yet cherish the sisterly bond we shared for nearly 40 years. Until we meet again I'll never forget that distinctive giggle, infectious smile, non-chalant demeanor and supportive encouraging words you brought to us all. Nykia, expect to hear a familiar whisper in a dream
.."WELL DONE daughter". Your mom loved you more than anything in this world.

Sister Cynthia Gordon was certainly a servant for the Lord. Cynthia served in any capacity in the church voluntarily. You never had to ask her to do anything, she was always there as a willing vessel to serve. Everytime the doors of the church were opened she was always there with a smile on her face. She is truly going to be missed. I pray blessings over the family and that the Lord give you strength doing this difficult time.
