Doris B.C. Smith

Doris Bell Coleman Smith, 76, of 2411 Rainey Creek Road, McKenney, Va., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, after a period of declining health. Doris was the daughter of the lat Willie C. and Dollie Hall Coleman and the wife of the late Wilbert Wilson Smith Sr. She was also preceded in death by her son, Wilbert Smith Jr., daughter, Crystal Smith; one sister, Mary C. Grandison; three brothers, Harrison Coleman Jr., Macarthur Coleman and Thomas C. Coleman.

Doris was a member of Big Bethel Church in McKenney and served as an usher. She loved fishing and cooking in her spare time.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted son, Luther Smith (Zorana) of Dinwiddie; two step-daughters, Sarah Wingfield of Dinwiddie and Rachel Green of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Bertha C. Henderson (Hawthorne) of Dinwiddie and Shirley C. Hartwell of McKenney; four brothers, Rorris Coleman (Amy G.) of McKenney, Calvin Coleman (Rose G.) of McKenney, Willie L. Coleman and James A. Coleman of Dinwiddie; four sister-in-laws: Dorothy T. Coleman of Dinwiddie, Angie Mazyck of Maryland, Queen Branch of Petersburg, Elizabeth Blue of Henderson, N.C.; one uncle, Frank Coleman (Geraldine) of McKenney; five grandchildren: Raquelle Epps, Quateka Epps, DaKwan Epps, Jasmine Epps and Omari Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, to include, LaFrance Epps.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at the Big Bethel Baptist Church, Mckenney with the pastor, the Rev. Alexander Williams, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the residence of her sister and brother-in-law, Fred and Bertha Henderson, 11619 Quaker Road, Dinwiddie, and can be contacted at 469-9203. The body may be viewed at the church one hour prior to the service and on Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. at the Mckenney Chapel-Joseph M.
