DORIS TUCKER Obituary
Doris was a graduate of Dinwiddie High School from the Class of 1980. She furthered her education at Wytheville Community College where she completed the program for Human and Mental Health services. She was employed by the State of Virginia for 12 years at Hiram Davis Medical Center in Petersburg, Va.
Known to many as "Dottie," she was a person that to know her was to love her. She was always ready to cut up and could make you laugh just by the expression on her face. One of her most favorite things to do was to support her grandson with his baseball games and adventures.
Doris was preceded in death by her grandparents, Deacon Leroy and Corine Beasley and Thomas W. and Elizabeth Tucker.
She leaves to remember so many precious memories her companion of over 30 years, Wade Wyatt; two daughters, Min. Terri Tucker-Pride (Collis) and Tameika Tucker; her beloved grandson, JaQuan Tucker; grandchildren, Collijah, Keyona, Collis III, Justin, Maleik and Tequanne; her parents, Thomas and Sarah Tucker; three brothers, Kenneth Tucker (Juanita), Calvin Tucker (Patricia) and George Tucker; eight aunts, Faye Pride (Winfred), Mary Wynn (Broadus), Eva Parham (Stanley), Janette Jones (Overton), Ruth Skeeter (Otis), Barbara Urqhart (Henry) Audrey Finney (Paul) and Sheila Hendricks (Wendell); five uncles, Calvin "Jerry" Tucker, Joseph Beasley Sr. (Dorothy), Rossy Beasley Sr. (Willianna), William Beasley (Carlean) and James Beasley Sr. (Linda); two great-aunts, Ann Hurst (Walter) and Addie Simon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, co-workers and friends.
A homegoing service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, Rev. Dr. Larry D. Brown, Sr., eulogizing, and the Rev. Andre Walker, officiating.
Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 530 South Sycamore Street, Petersburg, (804) 863-4411.

My husband worked with Doris at DBHDS and was heartbroken to hear Doris had passed. He's been out with back surgery. He said she was one of the sweetest people he has ever had the pleasure of working with. Our prayers and sympathy are with her family and loved ones. RIP dear friend!
