DOROTHY REMORENKO Obituary

Dorothy Dale Remorenko, 85, of Waverly, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Cora Bishop Oakley; husband of 44 years, Frank M. Remorenko Jr.; grandson, Courtney Frank; two sisters; and one brother.

Dorothy was a long-time member of the Waverly Rescue Squad and a member of Waverly United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was the first Miss Sussex, and a receptionist for Dr. Rosenberg in Waverly for numerous years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and also an avid gardener.

She is survived by her son, F. Michael Remorenko III and wife, Allen of Louisa; daughter, Polly R. Cowling and husband, G.B. Cowling Jr. of Waverly; son, Randy Remorenko and wife, Vina of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother; three sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2012, in Waverly Cemetery; Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Waverly Rescue Squad, PO Box 583, 115 Bank St., Waverly, VA 23890 or Waverly United Methodist Church, PO Box 12, 138 Coppahaunk Ave., Waverly, VA 23890.
