FLOYD A. GOODE JR.

Mr. Floyd L. Goode, Jr., age 75, of Chesterfield, VA, went home to be with the Lord late Monday evening on April 23, 2018, at Battlefield Park Healthcare Center. Floyd was born in Chesterfield, VA, on October 24, 1942, to Floyd and Rebecca Goode.

He was an excellent golfer, winning many prizes that Floyd shared with his children. He could beat anyone in pool and wasn't afraid to challenge you in a game. He would always find time to listen to his favorite entertainer, "The Godfather of Soul-James Brown." Floyd had two special women in his life Roberta Jamison (ex-wife and mother of his two oldest children) and the late Shirley Schwatz (mother of his youngest child).

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Barbara Lynn Goode, Rebecca Jean Goode-West, Charles Goode and William Goode; and a granddaughter, Tavonne Elliott.

Floyd leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Monica Goode; three devoted daughters, Michelle Goode King (Aubrey) and Bonnie Butler (Clifford), both of Chesterfield, VA, and Evonne Schwartz of Willingboro, NJ; ten grandchildren, Uchelle Goode, Ronnie Goode, Jocelyn Simmons (Keyshawn), Derek Minigan, Jr., Elijah Duren, Isaiah Schwartz, Audriana King, Aubrey King, Jr., Moenayja Hudson and Zion Schwartz; five great grandchildren, Ke'aja Miller, Canya Miller, Jermaine Miller, Gabriella Simmons and Eniyah Duren; four sisters, Charlotte Goode, Louise Parker (Ervin), Judith Moore (Kenny) and Wanda Goode; two brothers, Baszo Goode and Calvin Goode; a host of nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends.

Service of love and remembrance will be held 12:00 Noon, May 2, 2018, in the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, eulogist. Interment will be private.
