I also remember the good old days on Harrowgate Rd. I am sorry for the loss of what I remember as a vibrant personality. As a retired member of the US Navy, I'm sad that I never knew of his military history.

Our families grew up together on Harrowgate Road and have a long history together. I have many fond and wonderful memories of Mr. Bland. He was someone I respected and admired. He loved his family in a way that was inspiring. My deepest sympathies to his wonderful family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I did not get a chance to know
James well but his son Jim has been like a father to me along with his family. Linda has been there also. I am
so sorry for the lose.
