James Cosgrove Obituary
Mr. Cosgrove retired as a master sergeant with the United States Army after 28 years of service and was a retired captain with the Petersburg Sheriffs Department. He volunteered for the Prince George County Parks and Recreation as a baseball coach for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret F. Cosgrove; sons, James R. Cosgrove of Lewes, Del., Dwight Cosgrove and wife, Vickie, of Colonial Heights; stepson, Lonnie Arvin and wife, Sherry; grandson, Michael Cosgrove and wife, Amy, of Lewes, Del.; great- grandson, Logan R. Cosgrove of Lewes, Del.; brother, Harry L. Cosgrove of Hagerstown, Md.; sisters, Bessie Smith of Sabillasville, Md., Dottie Fishack of Smithsburg, Md., Mary Powell and Pearl Heffner of Hagerstown, Md.; grand-nephews and niece, Allen Easter, Aaron Easter and Annette Easter of Colonial Heights.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Pastor Raleigh Nunnally and Pastor Bobby Johnson officiating. Interment Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Va. The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hard to believe 9 years coming up on Monday the 20th 2020. Everyone is gone except for Aunt Pearl. Uncle Buck past April 2013, Aunt Bess passed July 2013 and my Mom Dottie Fishack passed October 5, 2013. Remember watching you guys the summer July 1965 I tirned 13 in Petersburg Virginia

Uncle Jimmy will never be forgotten. I named my son after him and my son loved meeting him. Uncle Jimmy has always been special to me.. Aunt Mary Powell of Hagerstown Passed away October 2008 she is not a surviring sister, sorry about uncle Jim Mom and I will be there. Thinking of you and the boys can't wait to see them it's been awhile since I came down to Petersburg to babysit the boys for the summer.
