James Seward Obituary

James Seward, age 90, entered eternal rest and peace on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28., at Golden Living Battlefield Park, Petersburg, Va. He resided at 2553 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, Va.

James was a native of Orange County and moved to Petersburg, Va. He was born Feb. 28, 1920, to the late James Seward Sr. and Catherine Jones. At an early age, he joined Power of Faith Church of Petersburg, Va. He went to school, was a farmer, construction worker and later retired in Petersburg, Va.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Harris and Edna Thomas of Petersburg, Va.

James leaves to mourn his memory brothers, Hanijie and Shirly Seward, both of Petersburg, Va.; aunts of North Carolina; a host of nieces and nephews; a loving and devoted friend, Alona Edmonds; and caring nurses, Rodney Taylor and Maurice Williams.

The homegoing services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Tucker's Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va., with the Rev. Antonio A. Tucker Sr. officiating. The family will assemble at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
