James Staton Obituary

James Norman Staton, 56, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman L. Staton, and mother, Irene F. Staton.

James was a longtime resident of Hopewell and coach of youth sports for many years. He enjoyed trips to Hatteras, fishing, the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with family. He was a longtime sheet metal mechanic and was currently employed by Air Excellence Inc. as a sheet metal superintendent.

His death was unexpected and he will be forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy K. Staton; daughter, Amy L. Noel and husband, Ralph; son, Samuel J. Staton; two granddaughters, Rae and Kennedy Noel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell, Va., with visitation following until 9. Interment will be private. Condolences may be registered at www.nelsencares.com.
