JEROME BOWLES Obituary
Jerome was educated in the Petersburg Public School System. He was a retired employee of Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) after 36 years of service where he was an ISA Certified Arborist. He was a member of Union Branch Baptist Church in Chesterfield where he served on the Pastor's Aide Committee.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Pamela Jones-Bowles; two stepdaughters, Aisha Lewis Mason (James) of North Chesterfield and Sabrina Lewis (fiancé Robert) of Chesapeake; two sisters, Mary Kennedy (devoted) of California and Shirley Brown of Philadelphia; one brother, Eugene Bowles of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Rashard Lewis, Keyontae Lewis, Karmyn Mason and Braelyn Lewis; mother-in-law, Edna Jones of Chester; sister-in-law, Paula Jones Jackson (Rudolph) of South Chesterfield; one devoted niece, Kimberly Morgan; two devoted friends, Richard Kershaw and Ralph Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Service for Mr. Jerome T. Bowles will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Union Branch Baptist Church, 11521 River Road, Chesterfield, Va., the Rev. Kenneth E. Rioland, Jr., Pastor. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
The family will assemble at 1 p.m. the day of the service and receive friends at 4018 Frye Terrace, South Chesterfield, Va.

So sorry to hear this news. My son and I lived across the street from the Bowles for two years and I talked to Jerome of yard work and the aches and pains of getting older on many occasions. My son Nathan was saddened as well, as he and Jerome talked motorcycles and shoveled snow from time to time--a lovely man that will be greatly missed....

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerome when he worked at Prince George AHQ as I made my stops, etc. there. We shared many a laugh, story, and head-shaking conversations that always left me with a smile. I would also see him here @ VDOT District Office after his retirement as he worked hourly. He was a very personable and likeable fellow. I wish him peace and hope to see him again.......
