JUNIOUS WINWOOD HARRIS

1929 - 2018

On Saturday, February 17, 2018, Mr. Junious Winwood Harris of 5618 Bell Street, North Dinwiddie, Va., entered into eternal rest at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 14, 1929, to the late Thomas and Lucie Harris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Smith Harris, four sisters; Annie Mae Harris Henry, Gladys Harris, Virginia Harris and Evelyn Harris Foster.

In 1959, after two years in the military proudly serving his country, Junious moved his family to Petersburg, Va. He was affiliated with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, but later joined First Baptist Church, West Petersburg, Va. He was a devoted, faithful and committed member of Eureka 15 Masonic Lodge, Petersburg, Va., for over 58 years. He was employed at Allied Chemical, Hopewell, Va., for 37 plus years.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son, James Winwood Harris (Polly); a grandson, Jason Winwood Harris (India); a great-grandson, Qaiden; a great-granddaughter, Nylah; a very devoted friend and companion, Mrs. Marian Smith; three sisters-in-law, Josephine S. Harris, Pauline Haskins (Henry) of Cullen, Va., and Martha Smith of Baltimore, Md.; the Smith family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and masonic lodge brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 12 noon, Friday, February 23, 2018, at Sharon Baptist Church, 26804 Fort Emory Road, N. Dinwiddie, Va., with Rev. Dr. Herbert Anderson, eulogizing. Interment will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew's Baptist Church, Cullens, Va. Public viewing will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Petersburg Chapel.
