KATRINA SMITH Obituary

Ms. Katrina Harriet Smith was 40 years old, when she entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born June 5, 1980 to Cleo Overton Smith and Charles Robinson, Jr.
Katrina attended Matoaca High School and graduated from Chesterfield Community School in 1999. She graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Computer Science. She worked for years at StarTech, until realizing her desire to care for others and her passion for baking. She worked hard, improved her baking skills, and launched her own business called, "Diamond Cutta Cakes and Party Favorites." She continued to work as a caretaker in residential care. She cared deeply for her new profession and provided excellent service to all clients charged with her care.
Katrina accepted Christ and became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Her grateful spirit and friendly demeanor made her loved by all who came into contact with her. She will be truly missed but not forgotten.
Katrina loved her family and friends and knew the importance of capturing every moment. She was the family photographer. She would post pictures of events and express her love and pride for every accomplishment achieved.
Katrina was known for her beautiful smile and her kind words. She was also known as the "Cake Lady." Her creative skills were used to design and to decorate her many sweet treats. Her creative skills were also seen in the designs she wore on her fingernails.
Katrina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Blanche and Jeffrey Overton and Annabelle and Charles Robinson, Sr. Also, preceding her in death are her godmothers, Freda Jones and Gayle Rudolph; uncle, George Overton; aunt, Janice Green; and her brother, Reginald Robinson and Shawn Bassette.
Katrina leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Cleo Smith and father, Charles Robinson; her sister and two brothers, Tonya Smith, Steven Smith (Lolita), and Antiona Smith (Ora) of Petersburg, VA. She also leaves sisters and brothers, Martin Robinson, Wayne Robinson, Robin Robinson and Karen Robinson all of Charleston, SC. Also left to cherish her memories are her two godchildren, Gi'Shya and Gi'Shaun Broggin and her special friend, Nathaniel Ford.
Katrina leaves to cherish her aunts, Brenda Blackwell, Nadine Luckett and Joan Overton; three uncles, Jeffrey Overton, Major Luckett, and Roland Luckett. She will be greatly missed by her nephews, Torrence Massenburg, Omar Massenburg, Deshawn Smith, Antiona Smith, Jr, and Kordell Smith; niece, Kori Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
