KHADIJAH MYRICK Obituary

We say to our beloved daughter, niece and friend "Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, They simply mean I'll miss you, unitl we meet again."

Miss Khadijah Michelle Myrick, 23 year old daughter of Veronica Myrick and Sandy Ruffin was born October 28, 1994, in Hopewell, Va. On December 3, 2017, God in his unquestionable wisdom came and took Khadijah home.

Khadijah was a 2013 graduate of Hopewell High School. She was a member of the Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball Team. After completion of high school she attended North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC.

At an early age she attended Friendship Baptist Church and was employed at General Dynamics, Chester, Va.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Irene Myrick; great-grandparents, Jesse and Emily Claiborne; great-uncle, Horace Claiborne; cousin, Jonathan Lee Claiborne; great-grandparents, June and Mandy Myrick; paternal grandparents, Arthur Ruffin, Sr. and Gracie Whitney.

Leaving to mourn her memories: her one and only son, Kyrie Walker; loving and devoted mother, Veronica Myrick; loving father, Sandy Ruffin; devoted friend, Kywon Walker; two loving and devoted brothers, Jarrel and Dominique Myrick; devoted grandfather, Albert Myrick; three loving uncles, Arthur Ruffin, Jr., of Wakefield, Vince Claiborne of Hopewell, and Timothy Myrick (Debbye) of Dinwiddie; five loving aunts, Carolyn Thompson of Washington, DC, Vanessa Rush of Maryland, Regina Sprately of Northern VA and Aretha Myrick of Hopewell; six great-uncles, Harvey Whitney, Alberto Whitney, Rev. Curtis Whitney, James Whitney, Thomas Myrick and Donald Stokes; five aunts, Annie Myrick, Algine Darden, Irene Johnson, Milzire Walker, and among them one loving and devoted Joyce Ann Claiborne; several cousins and friends, among them devoted like a sister, Alonjae Parson, Destiney Jones, Jamesia Cooke, Raven Reese, Jessica Boney, Chislon Smith and devoted cousin, Kyla Claiborne; host of other relatives and friends to include, the Front Street Family; McCloud Family, Shadrack Taylor and Family, Debra Epps, the Ennis Family, (all of Hopewell) and others too numerous to mention.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Bland and Tucker Petersburg Chapel, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, Va., Elder Michael Wyche, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George, Va. The immediate family will assemble at 12 noon at 2202 Front Street, Hopewell, Va. Family and friends visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Bland and Tucker Hopewell Chapel.
