MARCEL ROBINSON Obituary
He graduated from Petersburg High School, class of 1988, where he was a member of the track team and also a member of Gentlemen Athletic Scholars and Outstanding Intelligent Ladies (GAS-OIL). Marcel went on to attend Norfolk State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering. Since 2002, he was employed at the District of Columbia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Marcel was also an active member of the Jack and Jill Father's Auxiliary.
Marcel is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rachel Robinson of 17 years. He also leaves to cherish his memories two children, Morgan N. Robinson and Sydney M. Robinson; his parent,s Barbara L. Rice (Glen), Marcel Robinson, Sr. (Lynda); and three aunts, Essie Crockett, MaryElla Graves, and Elizabeth Shaw; one uncle, Robert Brooks. He's also survived by his sisters, Shontell R. Edwards (Booker) and Tia Robinson; his brother, Ronnie T. Reese, Jr.; sister-inlaw, Shonte Jones; brother-in-law, Eric Stringfield; his nephews, Aamir M. Edwards, Ishmail N. Edwards, Justin Stringfield; his nieces, Nyla Reese, Jada Stringfield and Gabrielle Jones. Marcel also leaves to cherish his memory several devoted friends: Neil, Amy, John, Anthony, Thomila, Sheila, Leroy, Clem, Dana, Alvernon, and Rob; and a host of other loving friends and family.
He is a God Fearing, Loving, Warm, Kind, and gentle person who loved and endeared his friends and family, especially his beautiful daughters. His big heart and infectious smile warmed the hearts of many. He will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in his loving arms until we meet again.
Memorial will be held at the Hippodrome Theatre, 528 N. 2nd St. Richmond, VA 23219, on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 12pm. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation be made in Marcel's name to the Cleveland Clinic.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Marcel during our time at Crestar Bank. During that time, many of us became friends and have kept a bond and connection over 20yrs later. He was always kind and had a smile on his face. Over the years through Facebook, I was able to share his good times and bad and always looked forward to seeing the good news. He was a blessing and my heart goes out to his entire family, as well as his many close friends. May he Rest In Peace.
