MAROLYN QUARLES Obituary
Marolyn loved many and was loved by many. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Harry; two daughters, April Quarles Blair (Randall) and Jennifer K. Moore (Junius); one grand-daughter, Amber Moore; one brother, Walter Redmond (Linda); three nephews, Eric Redmond (Pamela), Jerome Redmond (Nicole) and Quentin Redmond; and a numerous cousins, friends and children of love. Her children of love are daughters: Benita Hill Morris, Sheryl Tunstall, Veida Evans, Leisa Carter, Andrea Jones, and Tandrea Mayfield.
Marolyn never met a stranger. She was a friend to many and a mentor to most. She lovingly encouraged everyone to reach their full potential.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Zion Baptist Church, 225 Byrne Street, Petersburg, VA, Pastor Michael Shannon, Sr., officiating and Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White, Sr., eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Omega Omega Service and the Links, Inc. Memorial Services will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M., the day of the service at the church.

Oh will she be sorely missed! Since I have known my dear Sorority sister, there was always a smile, a hug, and effervescent love that you could feel straight from her heart! Soror Quarles will surely be missed and heaven has gained an angel. She would always be genuinely concerned about me and my family as well as my cousin Joyce Junior (she loved Joyce and Joyce loves her!) We are continuing to pray for the family for strength and peace during this time and years to come!

Soror Quarles was Madame President when I was made in the Distinguished Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Soror Quarles has such a wonderful spirit about her. She will be surely missed.

A beautiful lady - sweet and nice to everyone. A great teacher, role model and mentor. Worked with Debutantes for years, did the souvenir journal each year and did an awesome job. A great worker - a volunteer that worked endless hours. Cannot say enough good things about her. Had the pleasure of knowing her as a college student, close friend, and Link Sister.

Marolyn was a wonderful friend and a devoted alumnus of Virginia State University (VSU). It always was a delight to be in her presence. On the occasions that I coordinated with her on VSU alumni matters, she always was efficient and eager to assist. I shall miss Marolyn and treasure her memory. Mrs. Quayles was like a mother to many of us who grew up in Zion Baptist Church. She was one of the benchmarks in the sum total of our Christian experience in the church during days long ago.
