MICHAEL WARAKSA Obituary

Michael Ian Waraksa. Tragically we lost our beloved Mike to a weak heart on December 16, 2014. Friends and family will always remember his warmth, his big heart and his clever, dry wit. He had a passion for music, cooking, movies and his cherished Dallas Cowboys and VCU Rams. Mike took pride in his job as a Logistics Management Specialist at Redstone Arsenal, AL, and was the Department of Defense's foremost expert on the IUID system.

Mike's devotion to the love of his life, Lisa Marie was uncompromising. His love for his mother, Ellen Pruett was unconditional. His loving trust in his father, Bob and brother and best friend, David Waraksa was unquestionable. And his respect for his stepfather, Ed Pruett was boundless. He will be sorely missed by loving family in Colorado, Nevada, New York and New Jersey and Virginia. He will also be greatly missed by his many dear friends in Prince George and the surrounding Tri-Cities area, as well as friends and co-workers in Huntsville, AL. And no one will miss Mike more than his sweet Golden Retriever Dexter.

We are celebrating Mike's life with an open house at Ed and Ellen's home on Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Please join us in sharing your fondest memories as we raise a glass to a cherished friend, beloved son, magnificent husband and guitar-shredding brother. Memorial donations may be made to his favorite charity, The Wounded Warriors at www.WoundedWarriorProject.org.

I will remember Mike as always smiling, always pleasant when meeting in the hall, always having time to share a few words. The truly nice guys you remember. Good memories carry us forward. Another fun thing I remember is helping out with how to say his name for the visitors and callers.
