MYRTLE CASEY Obituary

Myrtle Emerson Casey, 81, of Hopewell, Va., passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Born in Dry Fork, Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Emerson; and was also preceded in death by eighteen siblings. Mrs. Casey was retired from Honeywell after 32 years of service and later in life she had worked for the Hopewell Visitors Center. She was a board member of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and also the Peoples Advantage Credit Union. Mrs. Casey had been a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge since 1990.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jack Casey; three children, Cindy Bassett and husband, John, Terry Casey and wife, Joanne, and Nina Lee and husband, Henry; six grandchildren, Chris, Lauren, Sam, Patrick, Andrea and Drew; two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Mason; one brother, George Emerson and wife, Mildred; a sister, Martha "Patty Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morris & Son Funeral Home.A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken Hendricks, officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I am so sorry to read of the passing of Myrtle. I used to do her hair and always had such a good time with her. She will be missed. We have moved to Norfolk so cannot be there, but Jack , please know that I am thinking of you and your family.
