NATHANIEL HARRIS Obituary

Mr. Nathaniel Lee Harris, Sr. of 102 N. Old Church, St., Petersburg, (Blandford), departed this life Saturday, April 11, 2015, at his residence.

Nathaniel was born to the late Beulah Branch Harris and Floyd Goode, Sr. He was a graduate of Matoaca High School and attended Virginia State College. He served in the armed forces of the United States Navy.

He attended the church of the Lord Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith, Petersburg. His greatest love was fishing and enjoying time with the family, especially his granddaughter, Alexis and niece Eliana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Charles Goode; sister, Jean Goode; step brother, Herbert Branch and step sisters, Ernestine Pinckney, Dorothy Branch and Mary Whitfield.

He leaves to his memory: son, Nathaniel L. Harris, Jr (Gabrielle); brothers, David Branch (Christine), Calvin Goode, Vazo Goode and Floyd Goode, Jr; sisters, Katina Curry (Colden, Jr.), Charlotte Goode, Louise Parker, Judy Moore and Wanda Goode; grandchild, Alexis Harris; niece, Eliana Curry; step sisters, Louise Evans, Shirley Branch-Ruffin, Alice Vincent and Arlene Fisher; host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Calvin Lewis, pastor, Harrison Grove Baptist Church, eulogist.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015, at the chapel. The family will assemble at 12 noon at 10600 Ethens Point Ct., Chester, on day of service.
