Peacola Goodwyn Obituary

Mrs. Peacola Walker Goodwyn, 90, entered into eternal rest May 17, 2011, after residing at the Bradford Oaks Nursing Home, Clinton, Md. She was a native of McKenney, Va.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Ralph Goodwyn (Ophelia) of Macon, Ga., and Randolph Goodwyn of Houston, Texas; daughters, Lawrenza Taylor Hunter (Charles) and Thelma Bradford (Harry) of Maryland, Mable Tucker and Mildred Laidler (Allen) of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren, including Otis Ann Taylor, a native of McKenney, Va; 25 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Big Bethel Baptist Church of McKenney, Va., with the pastor, the Rev. A.L. Williams, officiating. Burial will commence at the Big Bethel Burial Park. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday at the McKenney chapel. The family will assemble for the procession at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on the morning of the service, and will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Services are entrusted to the Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 11107 Doyle Blvd, McKenney, Va.
