PETER DEVEREAUX Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Raitt Devereaux; daughter, Moira Devereaux (Dea Sagnella) of Nova Scotia, Canada; son, Matthew of Beaufort, S.C.; and brother, Lance Devereaux (Jayne) of Crystal Lake, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Fennema Devereaux; father, William S. Devereaux; mother, Jeanne Warfield Devereaux Capulli; and sister, Sabra Capulli.
Husband, father, businessman, quiet volunteer leader and friend, he was devoted to his faith and an active member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Colonial Heights. He was an avid golfer and shot his age several times in his 74th year. Peter attended Brown University, class of 1957 and served in the 101st Airborne Division. He retired as General Sales Manager for WXEX, now WRIC TV.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Colonial Heights. Family and friends will gather to remember Peter at a brunch following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peter Devereaux Memorial Fund at St. Michael's Church or to Crater Community Hospice, Petersburg, Va.

Cynthia and family, I am thinking about you at this very difficult time. I had the opportunity to get to know you and Pete in several different ways. He was a hoot to be around and play golf with. I know that God will hold you in the palm of his hand and give you peace. I will miss him.

He was a wonderful Brother in Christ, and a great friend. I will miss him dearly. He fought for me in arenas where others feared to tread. Heaven gained an Arch Angel similar to Michael!! God speed, dear Brother.
