Regina Moore Obituary

The family circle has been broken. Another loved one has been called home.

On Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, our hearts were saddened by the sudden passing of our loved one, Regina Lynn King Moore, formerly of 213 New St., Petersburg, Va.

Regina was born on May 18, 1964 to Mr. and Mrs. Elijah A. King Sr. in Richmond, Va. She was educated in Matoaca Public Schools before transferring to Petersburg Public Schools during her senior year. Regina attended Sharon Baptist Church in Dinwiddie County, Va. at an early age and as an adult was baptized at Oak Street AME Zion Church in Petersburg, Va., where she attended until her health began to fail. Regina touched many lives while here on Earth through her unselfish giving, helping hands and open doors. She volunteered at the CARES Shelter for women and children by making Easter and Christmas baskets and donating toys and food for the children. She also volunteered at CARES Outreach Center and helped to pass out clothing for local needy families.

Regina was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Chatman King and Elijah A. King Sr.; a brother, Robert Jackson; her grandparents, Deacon Robert F. Chatman Sr., Alice Mitchell Chatman, Flossie Walker, all formerly of Dinwiddie, Va., and Lillian Tucker Sydnor, formerly of Petersburg, Va.; aunts, Marie C. Beasley, Sarah Shands, Eloise Carter McKeever and Gracie Stewart; uncles, Henry, Robert Jr., Leroy and Richard Chatman.

Clark, DaRon J. Brown, Elijah Binns, Gavin Clayton, Ernesta Green and LaQuata Hill, all of Petersburg, Va., MaKeisha, Curtis, Zakir, Ziysha, and Zyhana Coleman of Hackensack, N.J. and Denise Price of Hopewell, Va.; godparents, Mr. and Mrs. John and Elfreida Brewer of Charlotte, N.C.; devoted cousins, Alice Chatman of Syracuse, N.Y., Brittina Shands Jones of Newport News, Va., and Denise Robertson of Charlotte, N.C.; devoted friends, Christopher Lee of Syracuse, N.Y., and Kim Knight of Petersburg, Va.; many other relatives and associates too numerous to name, to include the Delectable Heights community.
