REGINALD GLOVER Obituary

Mr. Reginald Glover was born in Selma, AL on July 6, 1953, to the late Marie Mason. Reginald, affectionately known as ""Reggie"", was educated in Selma, AL and graduated from Selma High School in 1971. His class was the first to integrate the school and his classmates referred to him as "Headquarters". He then took on the charge to serve his country and joined the U.S. Army.

After his tour of duty, Reggie relocated to Detroit, MI for a short period of time. He later moved to Petersburg, VA in 1982 to relocate near his uncle, Idof Glover, who was more like a father to him. Petersburg became Reggie's new and permanent home. His first job was with Cox Cable Company. He then went on to work for the Petersburg Sheriff's Department. Thereafter, Reggie began working at Central State Hospital in 2004 and found not only a job but a family. One of those close family members was Ms. Tequlisha Clarke.

Reggie was an active member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church, where he served on the Male Usher Board and was a part of the Iron Men's Club Ministry.

Reggie leaves behind the following loving and dedicated family members to include: an uncle and aunt, Idof and Sheila Glover of Petersburg, VA, uncle, Willie Alexander (Irmogene) of Atlanta, GA and Davis of Tacoma, WA; his cousins, Robert and Debra Crosby of Yulee, FL, Warren and Gena Albert of Athens, GA, Kristi Davis of Tacoma, WA, Michael and Lena Alexander of Oakland, CA, Michelle Alexander of Atlanta, GA, Rhonda Simpson of Milwaukee, WI, Romaine May of Hopewell, VA and a host of other cousins throughout the United States.

The family would also like to thank Ms. Jackie White, Ms. Sonya Wilson and Ms. Janice Johnson for their help and dedication before Reggie's transition from his Earthly Home. Special thanks is also extended to Encompass Health Hospice and Home Helpers. May God bless you all.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 14, 2021 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Lamont A. Hobbs, eulogist. The interment will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

To Reggie (Headquarters) Family, yes Reggie was a young man who stood tall in statue with a quiet strength that he exhibited when deciding to serve our country in the Army. His name was affectionately mentioned in every Class of 1971 gathering of his class mates. We will miss him. Frankie(Pink Panther) and Elsie Dixon

I always liked Reggie. We had many interesting conversations. Some I didn't particularly care for (at the time), but he always made me think. Reggie LOVED his morning newspaper. The surest way to get him mad was to read his newspaper before he did. He said it was the feel of the crisp paper that he enjoyed.

I remember seeing Reggie driving around in his MGB. He really liked that convertible.
