Mrs. Whiting and dear family, my heartfelt condolences to you in the passing of your beloved husband, father, and friend, Richard. Always remember that our heavenly Father has great concerns for you in your time of sorrow and is there for each of you. Go to Him in prayer through His Son, Jesus Christ, for needed comfort and strength, dear friends.
Remember, dear family, Jehovah God is there whenever you need Him, have no doubt. The apostle Paul gives words of encouragement to that fact at Hebrew 13:5 when he wrote: "...I will by no means leave you nor by any means forsake you." This promise undoubtedly should strengthen you, dear family. If we put our trust in Jehovah God and honor His commandments, He will sustain us even in the most difficult of times.
May there be peace and endurance given to you and your family at this time, Mrs. Whiting.
Christian Love,
A great Day at the State Fair- at almost 100!!

Dear David and Family,
Your sweet dad just made the journey we all must take. We have no choice in whether to go or not, but we do have a choice in how we live. I never met your dad, but from all I have read and heard and the imprint he left on you, he must have been an outstanding individual! It is never easy to let them go. I'll never forget you coming to my precious Daddy's funeral in June. It meant a lot to me, David!

How sad to have lost such a dear sweet man. He and Doris were the first people I would see each Sunday morning when I went to the Colonial Heights Nursing Home. Such a sweet man with a beautiful smile. He will truly be missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure he is looking down and seeing just how much he was truely loved. I always enjoyed our talks and that dark chocolate he always gave out. Again, I will truely treasure our memories together and he has a special place embedded in my heart. I will always remember that smiling face that I saw when I visited him at the nursing home. Glad i took some wonderful pictures. Now I can always look back and see that smiling face that i will always miss..

I came to know Mr. Whiting at Colonial Heights Convalescence Center. He and Doris brightened not only my life but everyone they touched. I will miss his sweet smile. Heaven is a brighter place with him there. Bonnie Lonon, Colonial Heights Church of the Nazarene.

Just the other day I was riding through the old neighborhood and Mr. Whiting popped into my mind and I thought of him and all the years I have known him. He would bring his little Boston over to my shop for a bath or nail clip and we would chat for a few minutes. I always thought he was a neat guy. He always had a smile with a kind word. Definitely one of a kind.
