Ruth Fleming Obituary

A funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Magalene Lewis Fleming, of Ettrick, who departed this life on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center, will be held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Gilfield Baptist Church, Petersburg. Family visitation will be held at 11 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mrs. Fleming's name to the Gillfield Baptist Church Parish Club or the Mary Carter Beacon House in Petersburg.

Arrangements entrusted to the staff of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Greg - I was saddened to learn of the loss of your Mother and am sorry I cannot attend her services. From reading her obituary, I can see that she was a special person, very much involved in church and community work. Words just never seem to be enough. We will miss Mrs. Fleming and always remember her. What a lady. It has been a real honor to know and care for her.
