RUTH POOLE Obituary
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, at 211 Lynchburg Ave., Colonial Heights, Va., with the Rev. Glenda Hollingshead of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and guest Pastor Angie Bentley of the Chester Outreach Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Ruth was born in Parma, N.Y., on July 18, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Poole; recently deceased grandson, Joel Stuhler; sister, Dorothy Priestley; brothers, John, Frances and Robert Hemmerick.
She is survived by children, Michael (Marlene) Poole, Rose (Tim) Beauchemin, Linda Santillo, Stephen (Linda) Poole, Janet (Robert) Noel and Karen (Jay) McCloskey; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family of Ruth wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center and the Cremation Society of Virginia.
Reception following service at the home of Ruth's loving niece, Donna (Robert) Storey.
Flowers may be sent to the church or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.

always love always hugs for she gave to all of us. she could never give enough even when she gave too much. she will always be my guide, my love, my everything, thank god she was a part of all of us. now she has gone to shre her love and guidance with those that left before her, and especially her loving grandson joel. we will share your love with all who come after you, and most of all the ones u loved while here, thanks mom for everything,lots of love forever

Ruthie always had a kind word on her lips, a song in her heart and the gift of gab. We will miss seeing her smiling face and talking to her. I am sure she was welcomed to a Grand Family Reunion. She was a unique lady and will be missed by all. Peace to you all.

My memories of Mrs Poole, as we called her, include a lot of laughter. She was a very funny woman, and had good reason to be- she had a large family who always kept her going. I missed her when she moved away, and now, I am forced to miss her again. I know where she is now- she is no longer suffering. She is surrounded by other loved ones who left before her. My condolences to those left behind. May God rest her soul.
