Stephon Bullock Obituary
He was a graduate of the Petersburg High School, class of 1981 and a proud graduate of Norfolk State University, where he marched with the Norfolk State University Spartan Marching Band.
He was also an active member of the NSU Alumni Marching Band. Stephon accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Petersburg, where he sang with the Mt. Olivet mass choir and served on the audio video ministry.
His hobbies included skating, dancing, swimming and playing the saxophone. He retired from Medical College of Virginia Hospital as an IT technician and later was self-employed as a "one stop shop" maintenance technician.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters, Norma Bullock Turner, Patricia Bullock Lee, and Crystal Bullock; a brother, the Rev. Robert Lee Bullock Jr.; a stepfather, Deacon Jack Grandison; stepsiblings, Lawrence Grandison, the Rev. Gerald Grandison, and Rita Jackson; one great-aunt Catherine Thompson; two aunts, Nellie Proctor (Kansas City, Mo.), Dorothy Robinson (the Rev. Samuel); two uncles, Thomas White (Riverside, Calif.) and Lewis White (Philadelphia, Pa.); devoted nieces, Ebonie Bullock, Loleta Lee Brown, Takesha Utley, and the Rev. Tracey B. Lyons; devoted nephews, Charles Lee Jr., Christopher Bullock, and Roddrick Bullock Jr.; a very devoted cousin, Steven Howard (Clinton, Md.); devoted godfather, Frank Nelson (Mary); devoted Godchildren Teresa M. Tutt and Kayla B. Tutt; devoted friends, Yita Gomez, Rhonda Shaw, James Jackson and Ron Smith; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; relatives; and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, the Rev. Wesley K. McLaughlin, pastor, will officiate. Interment at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg. I thank and praise God for the memories we have on Stephon's beautiful smile,warm loving spirit and his love for music, dance and fun! So glad I was able to see Stephon at this last Bullock Reunion that his family hosted.

We were so sorry and surprised to hear of the passing of Stephon. To us it is a life ended too soon. Many words come to mind when thinking of him- smile,friend,helper, spirit-lifter,lover of life and mankind. God puts some people in your life for only a season. I am so glad our family was blessed in knowing and having spent time with such an pleasant and caring soul who exuded true friendship.

I will truly miss Stephon. I looked forward to seeing him every NSU Homecoming. I also was a member of the NSU Alumni Marching Band. We always laughed and talked as though we had never been apart. He was always a kindred spirit and as always we laughed and had fun at this last homecoming not knowing it would be our last. But God knows best and he has the master plan. I thank God for putting Stephon in my life, he was a true friend.

It is with great sorrow that I write these words, for I have lost a brother also. Stephon came into my life around 1986, and our bond got stronger with each year that passed. Stephon was there whenever I needed his help no matter what the situation was. I will truly miss him. There is a part of me that will not be whole until we meet again on the other side. Our prayers go out to the family.

I was lost for words when I heard of his passing. Stephon attended The 50 and Fabulous Birthday Party in June. We had good time. His kindness and willingness to help others was shown when he took the time to teach his classmates a line dance at the party. He will be missed!!!!RIP Stephon.
