TAMARA L. STITH

Tamara Lashelle Stith of 18804 Brevard Dr., South Chesterfield, Va., quietly entered into eternal rest at Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond, Va., on March 7, 2017. Tamara "Tastee" or "Big Red" as she was often called was born October 14, 1973, to Doris Salter and the late Deacon Joseph Salter. Tamara was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Salter; her biological father, Jerry Lane; and her grandmother, Mattie Stith.

Tamara accepted Christ at a very young age and was a dedicated and faithful member of Jesus Way Fellowship Temple, Petersburg, Va. Tamara was a very quiet, firm and very humble person. She loved to laugh and was often called a peace keeper by many. She was employed by Hill Phoenix and previously served in the U.S. Army.

Tamara is survived by her sons, Deverrick Harris (Alexandria) of Killeen, TX, TreShawn Harris of Honolulu, HI; her mother, Doris Salter; three sisters, Donita Williams (Herbert) of Hopewell, Va., Sabrina and Shawna Stith of Chesterfield, Va.; grandmother, Minnie Merritt of Petersburg, Va.; companion, Allen Buford of Chester, Va.; devoted god-sister, Sheila Mosby of Petersburg, Va.; nieces, Ahbri Womble, Kierra Cooper, Ariel Stith, TyAsia Olds, Kiceyonna Williams and her special niece, Jada Wiggins; nephews, Torey Olds Jr., Tywon Smith and her special nephew Daniel Williams; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, among them her special aunt, Tammy Lane; special uncle, Anthony Stith; special cousins, Lowanda Bland, Towanda Stith and Tonnessa Scott; lifetime friends, Rev. Tracy and Lonika Harris, Swansae and Roger Steele, and the Independent Ladies Social Club.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1021 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va. Rev. Lamont Hobbs, Pastor. Rev. Tracey Harris, officiating. Rev. Elaine Johnson, Pastor of Jesus Way Fellowship Temple, eulogizing. There will be a wake on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from 6-7 p.m. at the chapel.

Family will receive family and friends at 18804 Brevard Ave., South Chesterfield, Va., on the day of the service at 11 a.m.
