TEDDY PAYNE Obituary

Teddy Ray Payne Sr., 79, of Dinwiddie, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Paul Teddy and Blanch Honts Payne. Mr. Payne was a United States Air Force veteran and a veteran of the National Guard. He retired after 39 years from Firestone/Honeywell in Hopewell and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Dinwiddie.

He is survived by his wife for 30 years, Virginia L. Payne; children, Teresa Morris, Angela Cuttic, Teddy Payne Jr., Karen Walls, Sharon Barchanowicz, Barbara Edwards, Susan Cintron, Kenny Walls, and James Walls Sr.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother, Jackie Payne; and one sister, Betty Jo Goff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, 2015, from 10-11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 23814 River Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803, the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Raleigh B. Nunnally, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

Grandpa Teddy - thank you for being a faithful husband, provider, and supporter.. Always knew grandma was in good loving arms!! You could make anyone smile-I will hold on to the cherish memories!! Thank you God for giving Teddy to us and my Grandma for 30yrs!! Love you

Teddy was a great man who will be greatly missed. He took special care of his lovely wife and great pride in being her husband. I know his sense of humor will be remembered as well as his always having a smile for anyone around. More people need to live with this happiness in their lives.
