TONYA L.H. WALKER

As God would have it in His infinite wisdom has called another one of our Angels to her heavenly resting place, Ms. Tonya Lorraine Hardy Walker. Tonya was known to many as "Fat Mama" of 1531 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Va., formerly of 25506 Surry Avenue, Petersburg, (West Petersburg), as well as 1365 Rome Street, Petersburg (5th Ward).

Tonya departed this life on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Southside Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Tonya was born Wednesday, August 13, 1969, to Doris E. "Fuzzy" Hardy and Ernest W. "Booty" Hardy.

Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Ernest W. "Booty" Hardy; her grandparents, Benjamin Hardy, Sr. and Dorothy M.W. Hardy (who she was raised by) and Frank B. Coleman.

Tonya leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Trendale Hardy, Kelvin Hardy, and Alan Hardy; three daughters, Charisa Hardy, Monique Pride (Delaino), and devoted Latonya I. Hardy Smith (Kimyetta); four grandchildren, Damani Hardy, K'ayMiah Hardy, Mahogany Hardy, and Khalaina Pride; mother, Doris E. "Fuzzy" Hardy of Dinwiddie, Va.; grandmother, Martha A. Coleman of Dinwiddie, Va.; two sisters, Tammy E. Hardy-Griffin (Donald) of Dinwiddie, Va., and Elaine E. Akbar (Ali) of Hampton, Va.; two brothers, Erwin R. Hardy and Terry C. Hardy, Sr., (Velda), both of Dinwiddie, Va.; ex-husband, Frederick Walker of Petersburg, Va.; two adopted/foster brothers, Leroy Green, and John "Jefro" Green, both of Petersburg, Va.; an aunt, Louise V. Owens (William) of Dinwiddie, Va.; three uncles, Benjamin Hardy, Jr. (Evangelist Barbara), and Freddie L. Hardy (Nancy), both of Petersburg, Va., and John Crawley (Betty) of Chesterfield, Va.; eight nephews, one caring, loving and very devoted, Aaron A. Brewton; five nieces; her godmother, La'Mour "Sweetie Pie" Dean; one very devoted friend, Luvedith Gore; one devoted cousin, friend and godmother, Margaret O. Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

A special thanks to the staff of Southside Regional Medical Center, as well as being cared for by her daughter, nephew and friends.

Services for Ms. Tonya L. Hardy Walker will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Bernard Coleman, eulogist. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
