Wilbur Roda Obituary
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Helga Roda of Petersburg, son, Wilbur G. Roda III and wife, Bettina, of Chesterfield; daughter, Deborah Tyo and husband, Richard, of Colonial Heights; and son, Thomas Roda of Petersburg; and his grandchildren, Bianca and Sabrina Roda, Justin Tyo, and Cory Roda. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Mae Egede-Nissen and husband, Lars, of Okemos, Mich.
Bill retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He then retired from Defense General Supply Center in Richmond in 2000.
Military services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to GPF 1125, McGuire VA Hospital, Voluntary Services 135, 1201 Broad Rock, Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23249.
