William Washington Obituary

Mr. William C. "Billy" Washington passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond, Va., on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. He graduated from Peabody High School in 1966. Billy joined the Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. Billy worked in Civil Service positions that included Fort Lee and Hawaii.

Billy provided transportation, automobile repair, yard equipment repair and computer assistance to family and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles V. Washington Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn M. Washington; brother, Charles V. Washington Jr. (Piak); sister, Pamela J. Hinson (Wayne); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and close friends.

Billy favorite words were, "That's it, I am gone."

A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Emmanuel Worship Center, 236 Grove Avenue, Petersburg, Va., Pastor Joseph P. Green, eulogist.

Family and friends are asked to assemble 10:30 a.m. at church the day of the services.

The family will receive friends at 421 Pine Ridge Road, Petersburg, Va., and/or may be contacted by calling (804) 861-9118, (804) 477-7003, and (804) 590-6161.
