Albert Scorpio Obituary

SCORPIO, ALBERT A. 94, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. He was the beloved husband of Rose Ann (DiMuccio) Scorpio. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Luigi and Nicolina (Romano) Scorpio. Mr. Scorpio was the owner of Skip's Grocery and Meat Market for many years. He was also employed at Global Importing Inc., for 20 years; he was an usher at St. Rocco's Church and was an avid bowler. He was a US Coast Guard veteran serving during WWII. Albert is survived by his loving children, Paula Roberts, her husband Norman, and Debra Scorpio all of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Brian Piccolo and his wife Kristen and great-grandfather of Andrew and Ashley Piccolo. He was the brother of Ann Moretti of Cranston. His funeral will be held on Thursday, at 8:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Johnston. Burial with military honors will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Hope Alzheimer's Center, 25 Brayton Avenue, Cranston, RI, 02920.
