Barbara Sarkesian Obituary
Born in Providence and later residing in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Bargamian) Casparian.
She was predeceased by her husband, Haig Sarkesian. She was the sister of the late Chief Public Defender of the State of RI, attorney Richard M. Casparian, and is survived by her niece and goddaughter, Carol V. Casparian of New York.
Barbara was a graduate of Pembroke College. She had been a freelance writer specializing in local RI and American heritage and literature. She also had been a teacher at Johnson and Wales University.
The funeral and burial were private. Arrangements by Nardolillo Funeral Home.

I am so sorry to learn of Barbara's passing. I was searching for the obit of a mutual relative, Isabelle Bargamian, when we found this notice of Barbara. We had just reread her Christmas card today. No mention of any illness of hers was made.
Some 20 years ago on a visit to Isabelle, I met Barbara's mother, Virginia. I would appreciate hearing from any other relatives and/or friends. We are becoming very few now.

I am so sad to learn of Barbara's death. I knew her as a library patron - she had eclectic reading tastes. We shared a link in that we were both Armenian and I am also a kin to her husband. I will truly miss our conversations about books and things Armenian

Barbars's colleagues and friends at Johnson & Wales University would like to express their heartfelt sympathy. Barbara was the consumate professional, a talented educator and a dear friend to all. Students and colleagues alike were touched by her fondness of all from Amrican Literature to the Boston Red Sox. Respected by all, Barbara will be deeply missed.
