Carlin Nash Obituary
98, of Providence Forge, VA, formerly of Narragansett, RI, and Newport News, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was the husband of Frances B. Nash for 77 years. Born in Newport News, VA, he was the son of the late George W. and Marion (Barker) Nash. Mr. Nash was a graduate of Newport News High School, Class of 1936. He worked for the C & O Railroad and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a self-employed building contractor for many years. Mr. Nash was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Narragansett, RI, and served as the Tax Assessor from 1974 to 1987. He dedicated his life to the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mr. Nash was the founder and past president of the Providence Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International and served as one of its international directors. He was a member and leader of the Apponaug Pentecostal Church. Besides his wife, Mr. Nash is survived by his children, Carlin "C.W." Nash, Jr. (Betty) of Providence Forge, VA, Gladys "Winnie" West (William) of Narragansett, RI, Joan Nash of Tyler, TX, Marion Xenides (John) of Narragansett, RI, and Philip Nash (Deborah) and Stephen Nash (Amanda) of Saint Cloud, FL. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Nash (Page) and his grandson, D. Mark Sarrge of Williamsburg, VA. He also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Nash is survived by a sister, Dolores King, of Elizabethtown, NC. He was also the brother of the late Katherine Leggette, Phyllis McKeen, Calvin Nash and Rufus Nash. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26 at 10 a.m. at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia chapel, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Nash's name to the Assemblies of God World Missions, https://www.agwm.com , by selecting the 'Give' tab. Thank you Carlin for being such a wonderful man who related to other men and shared your anointing as a blessing for us to walk in and learn to stand tall in Christ. I have an abundant life in Christ because of Carlin - his words, his example, his gentle sharing, were a blessing I am so grateful to have received, for words he spoke many years ago still give me strength and blessing. Frances, your smile in my memory is a delight, and I can still hear the laughter of you both, each unique, and each filled with joy. God bless you.

Great man of God. Our Family and me as a kid got to know the Nash family. They had a daughter Winnie that came to live with us in the 60's when I was so young.

Brother Nash led me in the sinner's prayer at Apponaug Pentecostal Church in 1976. He was a godly man and shining example of a life wholly committed to Christ. I am sure there is a celebration in heaven and I will be honored to see him again in time. What a blessing. There just aren't enough words...he will be FOREVER remembered.

My sincere condolences to the family of Carlin Nash. Carlin was such a powerhouse for the Lord and a unwavering servant to the body of Christ. He was a man of great wisdom & encouragement. He surely will be missed by all and I look forward to seeing him in heaven when God calls me home as well.

We were so blessed to know Carlin. My husband, Steve, was involved with Full Gospel Businessmen and Carlin would come to the Conference's in Maine and was such a wonderful voice for the Gospel and we loved to hear him sing and play his accordion. We pray comfort for the family. God Bless You. He has left a legacy here on earth and is now rejoicing in his "new home." Steve and Christine Poitras

He was a wonderful Christian man. I used to love to go to Adult Bible Class every Sunday at Apponaug because of his teaching. It spurred me on to continue Bible Study and research which I continue to this day.
Stephen, I am so sorry for your loss, but he is Heaven's Gain. I am sure he is leading quite a few praise services in Heaven.

Dear Nash Family,
Sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Nash. But glad that he lived such a full and long life. We lived across the street from him and his wife in Edgewater and we have many fond memories of them. They were the nicest neighbors! I can still see him on his riding lawn mower!Please let Mrs. Nash know we are thinking of her. Our sympathy to you all.
